Chiropractic techniques
The chiropractor applies safe and gentle techniques to remove dysfunction in the nervous system and restore mobility. This brings the nervous system back into balance.
Our chiropractors are specialised in:
Chiropractic originated as a holistic medicine in 1895 with the aim of creating better health by optimising the nervous system. This sounds simple, but in reality it is very complex. The starting point for chiropractic is that the body is self-healing. The healing process is guided by the nervous system, which largely runs through the spine. When blockages arise in the vertebrae, the function of the nervous system will be disturbed in such a way that the healing process does not function properly.
In addition to the above techniques, you can also contact us for soft tissue techniques such as: shockwave therapy, dry needling, kinesiotaping and IAMFR (connective tissue release).
Chiropractic for all different purposes
We offer chiropractic for different purposes and complaints and use different techniques for this.
Chiropractic and Pregnancy
During a first appointment, we make the diagnosis by asking many questions and performing a general physical examination. In this way we can locate any other physical complaints and possibly relate them to each other.
The treatment itself will focus on the spine and pelvis using pressure point techniques. By applying this, we can effectively remedy any blockages in your nervous system.
Chiropractic and Children
What does an examination with the chiropractor look like?
In a first consultation, the history of the child, the pregnancy and birth story are also discussed.
The chiropractor uses various methods to investigate where the complaint comes from.
What does a treatment with the chiropractor look like?
Babies can be treated by a chiropractor from birth. The chiropractic treatment techniques for children are very gentle and safe.
The examination is a thorough health check-up for:
- Primitive reflexes (birth reflexes)
- Mobility of spine, pelvis, joints and damage
- Muscle tension (too high or too low) and muscle reflexes
- Motor development milestones check-up

Shockwave therapy
With shockwave therapy, good results are achieved in the treatment of persistent or chronic tendon injuries / tendonitis. Chronic pain complaints such as calcification of the shoulder or muscles, bursitis, heel spurs and RSI complaints are also treatable in the form of pain relief.
The positive effects of shockwave therapy:
- Stimulating neo-vascularisation (construction of new vessels) in the attachments of the tendon or in the bone;
- Calcium deposits are broken down molecularly (can be detected with x-rays, from approx. 6 months after therapy);
- Renewed vascularization up to 4-6 weeks after treatment;
- Formation of myofibroblasts (in muscle tissue) up to 4-6 weeks after treatment;
- Release of endorphins, a direct analgesic effect.
Chiropractie en sport
A chiropractor can often detect a structural problem that leads to an injury
Chiropractic assists the body in functioning as well as it does for the recovery of most common injuries. There are two categories of sports injuries: acute or traumatic. This is usually the result of a sudden impact of unexpected in force. It can also arise from chronic overexertion from occurring movements such as when throwing a ball. In fact, almost training causes micro-injuries when the body is (over)loaded and then recovered.
Dry needling
Do you suffer from tense and stiff, sore muscles and muscle knots? Dry Needling can help. By means of a special technique, muscles are pricked and therefore quickly relax and remained so for longer post treatment. These muscle knots, also called ‘Trigger points’ are switched off in a targeted manner. This is done with a small, thin needle that can barely be felt. In case of long-term complaints, several muscles are often treated. Dry needling is suitable for arms and legs, but also the back, neck and shoulders.
The symptoms of trigger points:
- local pain/stiffness in a muscle
- movement restrictions in associated joints
- decreased strength in the muscle(s) involved
- temperature changes, chills, headache and dizziness
- move differently to avoid the pain
Kinesiotaping
To give extra support after a treatment, kinesiotape is used: an elastic cotton tape. Because the tape has the same properties as the skin – in terms of elasticity and thickness – the tape adapts well to every natural movement. It stimulates the restorative capacity of the body, provides support, stability and does not constitute a restriction of movement.
Kinesiotape works well with:
- The (after) treatment of injuries to the musculoskeletal system such as back and shoulder complaints, but also knee and calf complaints;
- Reducing inflammation or fluid accumulations (lymphedema);
- Improving the mobility of a joint;
- Postural corrections or change of position of a joint;
- Treatment of complaints caused by overload.
IAMFR – Fascia Release Technique
IAMFR is the abbreviation for Instrument Assisted Myofascial Release. Fascia is one large 3-dimensional elastic connective tissue network in the body that runs from head to toe, from the skin to the bone. The fascia ensures that your body is held together and everything stays in the right place. A kind of movable glue / rubber bands that connect the layers and structures. Each tissue in the body has its own fascia.
The fascia tension is affected by the nervous system. Rest reduces our body tension, but stress can actually increase tension. The fascia system ensures stability, frictionless movement and resilience. With this, it plays a very important role in your health and mobility. With special fascia tools, the contours of the body are followed and treated.
Fascial therapy is a safe method and works well with:
- Back and neck complaints, muscle and joint pains, adhesions
- Stress problems that manifest themselves on your body such as depression and burnout
- Physical and psychological functioning disorders
- Sports injuries and sports-related movement problems
